Our Story

My name is Jason Lebeau, owner of MrWalls. I went into the drywall business in 2001, MrWalls Drywall & Painting was originally Lebeau Drywall. We did mostly new drywall installation of jobs from 100-400 sheets of drywall, and very few small jobs.

Throughout those first seven years, I noticed there were always many bidders on the new drywall jobs. However, there weren't many that were willing or set up for smaller jobs under 100 sheets. When I did these smaller jobs, it gave me more satisfaction that I was helping someone in my local area, and I was able to take my time more and do a better job. In 2007, the housing crash began, and I quickly adjusted as the market changed. I began to focus full-time on smaller jobs as the larger ones were getting too competitive.

Even though the market rebounded, I was happy doing the smaller jobs and stuck with it these last 19 years. I haven't regretted it, and it has allowed me more time to spend with my children and do a top-quality job instead of focusing on speed and doing a lot of sheets.

In homes today, drywall covers so much of the interior surfaces, covering nearly all walls and ceilings. This means that roughly 75-90% or more of the visible interior space in a typical home is defined by the quality of the drywall installation and, even more important, the taping and finishing.

A quality taping and finishing job is essential because it transforms many drywall panels into a seamless, smooth surface ready for paint, wallpaper, or other lime plaster paint. Without proper taping, in the areas where the joint tape reinforces seams between panels, and multiple thin coats of joint compound (mud) carefully feathered and then sanded smooth, joints, screws, and corners remain visible. Even minor imperfections like humped seams, scratches in the compound, or uneven surface textures become really obvious under shiny paint or direct sunlight, making the entire room look bad and unfinished.

Beyond aesthetics, professional finishing ensures long-term durability. Drywall joints are vulnerable to movement from house settling, temperature changes, or humidity, which can cause cracks over time. Quality tape and compound application bridges these gaps, preventing shrinkage, bubbling, or airpockets that lead to costly repairs. A smooth finish also provides a better base for paint adhesion, reducing peeling or uneven color, and offers subtle protection against moisture infiltration in joints.

Here are examples of poorly finished drywall with visible seams and imperfections versus the seamless results of professional work:

I am extremely satisfied with the work they did on my ceilings! It exceeded my expectations. They were excellent, they showed up on time and the work was prompt. I highly recommend to everyone.
